OUR HISTORY
The pandemic was a complicated time for everyone, but despite the adversities, human talent and creativity did not stop. Product and clear example of this, in August 2020 in Surquillo - Lima, Contraste was born. It was during the first months of confinement that the idea of a small but heartfelt gastronomic space arose, in which we could keep the flame of good food and drink burning... a project that with much effort and optimism became a reality.
Angelo, Andrée and Godelieve, gave a dimension of their own to their kitchen and their space... A warm, multicultural, generous, contemporary and sybarite space, adapted to the needs of the moment, without losing the love for good gastronomy, to satisfy the palate of everyone who knocked on the door. Contraste today is a place of exchange between friends, celebrating a seasonal and market cuisine, based on local products, accompanied above all by a wine carefully chosen to enhance the experience.

OUR CONCEPT
Our chef Angelo offers a contemporary, refined and tasty Peruvian cuisine using products from the different regions of Peru, respecting the seasons and putting in value inputs sometimes little used in the local pantry. Thanks to his technique, his encounters, his numerous trips and his experience in prestigious kitchens in Europe, Asia and the Caribbean, he manages to transmit his passion for gastronomy in dishes where the presentations thrill and the surprise effect intertwines to create emotions in the visitors.
Godelieve, of French nationality, passionate about the world of wine, chooses carefully the different wines of the cellar, to harmonize the glasses and dishes, enhancing the flavors on the taste buds.
Andrée is the cornerstone of the trio Contraste, manager and leader of the dining room team and the whole human group. She teaches us day by day that the best example that hospitality, empathy and charisma can be united, that is her key to guide and accompany you during your experience at Contraste!
